To celebrate National Cyber Security Awareness Month, Cyber Alchemy, in partnership with the Yorkshire Cyber Security Cluster (YCSC), have created a Capture The Flag (CTF) event, “The Alchemists Code Catastrophe”. Join the CTF to test your hacking skills, learn from the best, and walk away with knowledge and fabulous prizes!

🌐 About the Event

Our CTF has been designed to be enjoyable for everyone, from people wanting to break into the security field to seasoned security professionals. Six varied security challenges await all participants, from foundational skills to intense multi-stage exploitation paths requiring a broad range of offensive cyber security skills to complete.

For people who want to build their hacking skills, we have in-person training sessions delivered by our expert trainers, which accompany some of the challenges, allowing us to guide you through the process of vulnerability discovery, exploitation and even how to prevent these issues in your systems.

Every challenge you tackle is a testament to your skill and a chance to win! Rack up entries for our grand prizes with each completed task.

Terms and Conditions

Eligibility: The Cyber Security Capture the Flag Competition is open to individuals of all skill levels who are at least 18 years old at the time of participation. Employees and immediate family members of our organisation are not eligible to participate. Sorry, Anna.

Registration: To enter the competition, participants must submit their full name and a valid phone number. Only one entry is allowed per person. Multiple entries from the same person will result in disqualification.

Flag Submission: Participants are required to submit the flags they have discovered through the designated submission form on the competition website. Each flag must be entered accurately and in the specified format. The submission of false or misleading information will result in immediate disqualification.

Verification: All flag submissions will be thoroughly reviewed by our team of cybersecurity experts. Verification may take some time, and participants are requested to be patient during this process. The decision of our experts regarding the validity of flag submissions is final.

Phone Number Verification: To ensure fairness and minimise the likelihood of multiple entries, participants must provide a valid phone number during the submission process. By participating in the competition, participants consent to be contacted via phone for verification purposes. It is the participant’s responsibility to provide a working phone number and answer calls from our team. Failure to answer the phone call may result in disqualification and the selection of an alternate winner.

Prize Delivery: The winners of the competition will be awarded prizes for their efforts. The prizes will be delivered to the winners on the designated delivery day. It is the winner’s responsibility to be available to receive the prize on-site in the CTF event. If any of the winners are unable to pick up the prize or do not answer the phone call during the scheduled delivery, an alternate winner may be selected.

Personal Data: By participating in the competition, participants agree to provide accurate personal information during registration and understand that their data may be used for the purpose of verification, prize delivery, and communication-related to the competition. Participant data will be handled in accordance with our organisation’s privacy policy.

Fair Play: The competition is intended to be a fair and enjoyable experience for all participants. Any attempt to manipulate or compromise the competition, including but not limited to hacking or exploiting vulnerabilities on the competition platform, will result in immediate disqualification and potential legal action. Cyber Alchemy’s standard mantra applies at all times: Don’t be a duck.

Changes and Termination: Our organisation reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the competition at any time for any reason. In the event of such changes, reasonable efforts will be made to notify participants in advance.

Legal Compliance: Participants are responsible for complying with all applicable laws and regulations in their jurisdiction. Our organisation disclaims any liability or responsibility for any participant’s failure to comply with such laws.

By participating in the Cyber Security Capture the Flag Competition, participants agree to abide by these terms and conditions and the decisions made by our organisation. These terms and conditions may be subject to change, and participants are encouraged to review them periodically for updates.
